It’s always a little surprising when someone as repellent and unlikable as Michael Tracey thinks as much of themselves as he clearly does. He’s definitely not worth any of our time, but part of me is grateful to him. Because of his bullshit, I got a little MartyrMade content to read on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. In all seriousness, condolences to you and your family Darryl. I was moved by your description on Provoked of your wife’s reaction to the news and your feelings upon realizing you couldn’t fix it for her. I know that feeling and it’s very painful. All the best to you and yours. Can’t wait for the next episode of Enemy.
Sorry for the loss. Been listening to your podcast and commentary for 6 years now. I'm always on your team and will defend you publicly and privately, if it means anything to you. The only 2 individuals I include in that group are Ron Paul and Thomas Massie. I don't care what the beef is, I'm on your side.
In a moment of masochism I listened to a few minutes of that guy do his best defense of pedophiles while talking with Thad Russell. Gross human being. Sorry you had to waste your time with him
I was wondering if they are the same guy but I am not interested in keystrokes or the possible additional views to his Substack to confirm, so thanks for this. I hate when he subs for Glenn - such a disappointment style and substance-wise, and now a huge step down in class.
May the memory of your loved one be for a blessing.
I follow some people who like and admire you, and I follow some people who despise and mock you, and certainly at least some of your friends are people who I find repulsive in their views, but I always consider you an honest man who says what he feels and an astonishingly good writer who is always a pleasure to read.
I think Daryl has the ability to speak from a right side view to: not far leftists, but kind of far leftists, Like women who have tried and failed to compete with men in the job market and then got a career in an office practicing lawfare against abusive men that deserved it. Not college educated, brainwashed people. There has honestly been times where I've had my views, that I've had that I picked up on my journey going to the right confronted by how he put things, and I enjoy it.
My condolences, Darryl. You and yours and your grief are in my prayers.
I was totally unaware of this whole thing until reading this post, but, as always, I appreciate the nuance and precision of your responses here. Clarified a few things for me helpfully.
I am curious, though I request no answer (and probably you shouldn't give me one), why you still have and use an X/Twitter account. You have your serious work, which we all appreciate and I'll defend to anyone who is capable of listening; but, as James tells us, the tongue (or the keyboard below the X-feed, in this case) is a fire...
For all I know, you've quit said platform completely months ago; or have made a careful and prudential judgement to continue using it in whatever ways you do and your conscience is justly at ease with all of that. I only bring it up because you have, in the past, given the impression that it's something like a guilty pleasure or, another way to say it, vice.
Easier said than done, but maybe limiting your X presence to promoting the Substack and posting podcasts while keeping the replies and comments to the a minimum? maybe theregular posting/replying on X really drives a good portion of engagement here? Only you know, but Twitter is a kind of poison it seems. Limiting its use seems like a good idea.
Second, Michael Tracey is a skeptic (which is what journalists should be) but he's fallen into the trap of being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. Skepticism can be a good thing, but you should always temper it by listening to what people are actually saying.
There are those who seem to think that questions raised such as "did Jeffrey Epstein work for intelligence in some capacity?" and "why was an Israeli who works for Netanyahu allowed to return to his home country after being arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor?" equals "Israel is running a massive child sex trafficking scheme" when that is not the case.
The questions about Epstein are simply about this: Did he work for intelligence, and if so, in what capacity, and furthermore, when the allegations and subsequent charges of child sex trafficking came against Epstein, did intelligence try to get him a sweetheart deal because they were more concerned about losing an intelligence asset than they were about the illicit activities in which Epstein was involved.
With the recent FBI investigation into solicitation of minors, the questions are about whether or not there is a double standard being applied here. None of us are making excuses for the other 11 who have charges against them... we are simply wanting to see the same procedures applied to all 12 and not make an exception for the 12th, when the 12th happens to hold a significant position with a foreign nation... particularly when many of us would not be surprised if the exception wasn't made for those holding significant positions in foreign nations such as Iran, China, Russia, Venezuela or Somalia... or for that matter, nations like Canada, Britain, France and Germany.
And when we do not get these answers, that is the foot in the door for actual anti-Semites to run wild with their claims.
We're simply asking that, when it comes to something like child sex trafficking, we do not put the interests of those such as intelligence agencies, lobbyists or foreign leaders ahead of ensuring a proper investigation that leads to holding accountable those responsible for something like child sex trafficking.
Michael Tracey has done good work in the past, but in this case, he's basically arguing for the sake of arguing and getting mad that Darryl won't accommodate him above all else.

Fuck this guy man his entire arc over this has completely discredited him.

Exactly, guys is literally justifying a 14 yearbold doing a strip tease.
I hope Glenn Greenwald reads your response

DC, sorry for your loss man. Hopefully you've got a group around you to lift you up and carry your burdens.
Thanks for taking out the trash. Seems like every turd with a keyboard wants to punch above their weight class these days.
Take care DC. Spend the time you need to grieve. We're ready to learn when you're. Ready to teach.
My condolences.
Never heard about Michael Tracey before this post, and I also don’t give a shit.
When people show who they are, believe them.
My condolences, I’m also processing an unexpected death in my immediate family, and it’s hard.
It shows you what’s important and nonsense like Mr. Tracy ain’t it.
Sorry for your loss. I unfollowed M Tracy after his response to your response above - he is clearly chasing the engagement. Sad!
May the memory of your loved one be for a blessing.

Unfortunately, most of my engagement here comes from there. I'd drop it tomorrow if that was the case, because you're 100% right.
Fair enough, brother. We—all of us, in this age, at least—make our compromises with Mammon. I'm certainly no exception.

ATA boy Darryl! I like your honest blunt response!
curious if tracey at a minimum ever expressed to you, "sorry for your loss."
First:))) thanks for the new article
Hardly an article, and much less than you guys deserve, but the next one will make up for it.
patiently waiting.
First of all, Darryl, sorry for your loss.

I'd argue that a British intelligence agent would have a pretty good chance for preferential treatment.
