Hi everyone. I was sitting here finishing up the next installment of the slavery/Civil War series (should be done today), and thought I’d share this review of Godzilla Minus One I wrote for IM-1776.
Excerpt:
It is not easy for an American to comprehend the mentality and motives of the kamikaze, who are often discussed in the same breath as Muslim suicide bombers and Western mass shooters. These comparisons could not be further from the truth. Suicide bombers and mass shooters are, practically without exception, driven by a toxic stew of depression and rage, neither of which were prominent in the mind of the kamikaze. It is notable that kamikaze, like all pilots in service to the Japanese Empire, were drawn from respectable families, and that many senior officers, including at least one Vice Admiral, gave their lives in these missions. The typical kamikaze feared death, but his fear was overcome by his sense of honor, of the infinite debt he owed to his family and his homeland.

As an older person who has perhaps 10yrs left to live I CAN understand the desire to die in a common cause IF it would mean the end of war.
I would fly directly into Biden or the UK minus Scotland/Wales and Ireland.
BEWARE of older women who can fly and have superior fighting skills!
Absolutely fantastic movie. I’m a fairly recent convert to Godzilla nerddom, but Godzilla nerd I am. I’ve told everyone who will listen that you don’t have to have an affinity for the genre to love Minus One. Godzilla is a character (a force?) within a masterfully put together movie, rather than the whole reason we’re there, which he usually, essentially, is (and deservedly so. I could listen to that roar for hours)
