Second this. @Darryl I know others have asked this, but would love to see even an incomplete reading list broken down by your series/episodes (e.g. the main sources for The Antihumans, the Epstein series, and of course The German's War). Please don't feel like it has to be comprehensive--I think I can speak for most of your readers and listeners in saying we'd love even a starting point to dig deeper into these topics on our own. FWIW, I'm particularly keen to hear your book recommendations regarding Russia-Ukraine-US relations (in addition to Horton's Provoked).
I'm currently reading No Country For Old Men for the third time, so I can appreciate a novelist akin to Cormac McCarthy. Thank you for the recommendation!
I'm in a book club (with real readers), and it gets tougher and tougher to find new books worth reading. For a woman, my taste is eclectic. Over the last couple of years, I've enjoyed everything written by Jack Carr, both his Terminal List series (so much fun!) and his book on the Beirut bombing. I only recommend those to guy friends, though.
2. I purchased it this morning and can't remember for sure, but I believe it's on sale, 70% off right now. (I'm a monthly member, so they just charge me in credits, which is why I can't be sure.)
On your recommendation on X I read "King of dogs" a couple of weeks back. Cormac McCarthy was my immediate comparison in terms of style and power, along with the way he's able to explore both the darkness of human nature and resilience in the face of it. Finished it in a sitting. Just ordered Crowbar!
Everyone who can should buy copies of these books. If you want to change the culture, you have to support artists...
Exactly.
Make this a monthly or quarterly (or whatever interval makes sense based on your reading volume) topic, please!
Deal.

I also liked “once a mighty tribe” by Clive Clovis
Check out Mockingbird by Walter Tevis
Thanks for the recs.
Quick question : "and he’s one of us" - I don't want to get sloppy and assume - what do you mean?
A fan of Martyr Made!
Got it. YES!

You won't regret it.

Andrew grew up in Portland, maybe that is a best place to see how America could experience USSR style collapse.
Thanks for the books and author suggestion.
Just ordered both. Thanks for the recs. Exactly what I’ve been looking for.
@martyrmade, you need to read his audio books.
For you audio book listeners:

These books ARE incredible! J Burden, Pete Q, and myself have all interviewed the author. Listen to those and read the books! You too will be floored.
