Darryl can make the complex become understandable. Comparing Russia’s industrialized economy to our apps for dick pics economy was hitting the nail square on the head again.

Mostly because it’s just incorrect, but what’s worse is he also gets the history wrong. Genghis Khan, the Romans, the Persians, etc. totally gloried and reveled in the suffering of their conquered and subjugated. Darryl is great because he always has a point of view derived from reason, even if I disagree with some of his conclusions. This idiot who is like “It’s a tragedy that the US is half black and half Spanish” isn’t worthy of his time.

Agree that ancient civilizations had whole monuments dedicated to dunking on their conquered foes.

the link says "this live event is no longer available". Is there another place we could watch this?

Second. Would love to watch this if it is available somewhere.

Always enjoy Darryl’s thoughts on basically any topic, but I found AA’s assertion that the Israelis are basically the most barbaric people in history to be one of the stupidest fucking things I’ve ever heard.

He was a little off the reservation talking about how the Mongols, etc weren’t so bad lmao… but I try to be a good houseguest, so I didn’t push back.

It's common nowadays for historians to overcorrect on the image of the Mongols as bloodthirsty monsters. Although a lot of the millions of Chinese casualties might have been smallpox, but that plague probably wouldn't have gotten so bad without the Mongols wrecking everything so it's kinda a wash.

Ya & like how the Israeli attacks are just disgusting and how no one should revel in defeating an opponent…the murders by the Palestinians to me were way more disgusting and they filmed and celebrated around the injured and murdered…definitely appreciated the description of rot and Mike myers style murders by Palestinians. And the fact that ridding hamas would take something medieval style. Maybe Israel should have done nothing…it will take medieval or crazy grace. if Israel said give the hostages back & we’ll do nothing and if you don’t only then we’ll decimate you I wonder if the world would have had their back in that situation..or if the Palestinian people would have helped free the hostages..bc seems to me decimation is what hamas wanted, makes more terrorists 🤷‍♀️

It is hard to look at any Palestinian aggression without looking back through the history and realizing the Zionists/Israelis have perpetrated the exact same horrors on the Palestinians 10x fold. I mean the terror tactics the Palestinians use were learned by being on the receiving end of them by the Zionists lol. As Darryl says the situation is a mess. It is hard to imagine what a resolution to the conflict would look like.

Eh I don’t like using history as an excuse too much. What the Palestinians/traditional terrorists did/have done was horrific and gross, for me more gross than Israel’s response. Especially when there’s still Israeli hostages. Typically there’s reasons why people are sick…but then what do you do with sick people. Can’t justify their actions from their past, that’s just an explanation, actions still have to be punished and the people prevented from future sick actions. can’t agree with the Palestinians learning terrorism from Israelis or the ten fold thing 🤷‍♀️

You are misreading me if you think I am making an excuse. If you desire a resolution to the conflict you need to understand the historical context because then you can begin to try to understand each parties mode of thinking. You seem to be doing the exact same framing of the conflict Darryl talks about the US media doing. Not sure how assigning a value ranking structure to atrocities committed helps here? What Hamas did and has done was disgusting. What Israel is doing and has done is disgusting. Are you trying to keep score? My personal opinions is I am pro-American and would prefer we discontinue all military aid.

Disentanglement from this incurable situation is the only rational response I see.

Why so? Are you seeing what is going on or are you comparing jungle savagery?

Another geopolitical masterclass. I listened while working out yesterday. Thank you for continuing to say what no one else will.

Really love the insight as to why the Blob hates Russia so much-they present an alternative. Maybe not a great one, but they show other paradigms are possible. Nothing scares Marxists as much as that. Also great plan on how to neuter the CIA. Now invest in a bodyguard. Maybe after them we can get to work on the FBI.

I’m definitely going to refer to the American economy as “inflated by dick pic apps.”

About to start the China portion. I like the analogy of big brother/little brother with Israel. But I will say Israel leadership created that dynamic by design, and had previously tried to create that dynamic with Britain. And when Britain started giving them real pushback, Zionist (as Israel wasn't a country yet) leadership literally started committing acts of terrorism on the British government.

Thoughts on whether part of France's renewed interest in Ukraine is due to Russia's influence in Africa? I don't know whether or not their former colonies are that relevant to their current economy... but it does seem like a lot of them are opting for Russian military over French.

Have listened to AA for years, I'd hoped you two would talk since I stumbled across your old Spengler series. Quite surreal to see it happen.
