You could post something explaining the reasoning behind the naming of the podcast in the first place. Would go a long way to explain the MartyrMade title and see if a change in vision compared to back then warrants a name change now.

MartyrPaid... since its a subscription???? Joking of course. I like the idea of keeping it consistent with the Podcast, unless you wanted to tweak the name to make it sound more exclusive... like 'Made Martyrs'.

Maybe just a different picture so the 2 podcast feeds are immediately distinguishable

I think this is a great idea. I get confused which is which on apple podcast so maybe just a simple picture change could suffice. I did see martyrpaid since it’s a subscription and I though that was kinda funny

MartyrMade gets my vote. Kinda lets you know this ain’t for rookies looking for some 15 minute puff piece on the Magna Carta. However, I am not a marketing or podcast expert, so I will leave that to you and our Martyr brothers.

nah. the podcast is so good, you should keep some continuity between the two since people are going to discover the podcast and substack independently from each other.

Depends. For now it’s fine but once you finally get invited onto JRE and explode in popularity maybe change it to something with your name so people can find it without effort. “Coopers conscious” lmao little tacky but ya get my drift

TC_Hondo's avatar

Definitely need to get on JRE. You have a very interesting backstory which needs to be told to a large audience. Have Jocko ring him up :-)

All the cool kids with cool Substack names are late to the game and had to find something better than their government names. I humbly suggest that you might not top the Martyr Made title without a stroke of divine intervention (If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it). You could just change the colors of your substack logo to differentiate between feeds, that would be nifty.

People coming here probably already know that this is a substack. Martyrmade just looks cleaner for the title.

Put a space in between “martyr” and “made” so that iOS doesn’t autocorrect people away from your Substack, but otherwise keep the name, logo, and branding.

MartyrMade is solid. That being said, it is difficult to differentiate between this podcast and the freeweb MartyrMade podcast on my podcast RSS feed (google podcasts). Perhaps a slight variation on the icon would help ease of access. Thank you for the stellar content!

Stick with your brand - MartyrMade. Distinguish it by adding subscriber, or crew, or something - but lead with the brand. Sounds silly but the most important thing to me is changing the icon in apple podcasts so I can tell the difference between your two feeds at a glance! (Even if you don't have another iconic image - or catchy stamp like Carlin's "MartyrMade" - simply changing it to a different color scheme would make me happy.)

I imagine it's like naming a rock band. Something I always had trouble with for some reason. I like your podcast just the way it is. You may find you like a different moniker at some later date, and that's just fine.

I would perhaps consider “The Deep Dive with Darryl Cooper”. After all, that is pretty much what this substack really is. And it is a completely fantastic substack (and podcast). Thanks Darryl.
